Here's the answer to all your questions about working with us:
Our Managers have an intensive month of training before being signed off as a fully-fledged member of the YO! Sushi Management Team. You will gain plenty of on the job development and coaching. We run regular training courses at our YO! Academy to ensure we give you all the skills and support you will need during your journey.
YO! Team Members
Before we let you loose in the kitchen or front of house, we put you through a week of intensive training and provide you with a great manual and trainers to help you through the process. You will continue with on the job development as well as attending our training academy for on-going courses.
Our Managers have personality and we are happy for them to show this in having them wear their own clothes. We may not allow sparkly hot pants, but smart casual including jeans is fine.
For front of house team members, we are happy to let you wear your black jeans to work, we provide you with a funky T-shirt.
In the kitchen we'll provide you with a full uniform.
As a full time member of the YO! Team you will have 28 days paid holiday. If you are one of our part time team members this will be 14 days paid holiday depending on the amount of hours you have worked.
Your holiday allowance is worked out over the amount of hours worked by our computer system.
We offer to all of our employees the chance for more holiday entitlement depending on your length of service, you could raise your holiday allowance by 10 extra days.
Developing our people is key. Each month career development for our Managers is discussed, we have regular reviews and can offer support at each stage in your career, tailoring courses held at our Academy to help you become the best at what you do.
YO! Sushi is proud of its 'finishing school' which has helped many of our Assistant Managers become General Managers, as well as our Sous Chef's into Head Chef's. Our Operation's Managers are always on the lookout for new talent as well as supporting internal promotions. It's another part of how our business keeps growing.
YO! Team Members
You are the future for our business. We have fantastic programs here at YO! Sushi which have helped develop many team members into our current Managers.
We have our special 'finishing school' programs to help you get where you want to be, and working towards these programs will be arranged with your manager.
Joining our team as a Manager in our restaurants we would require previous management experience, which would ideally be within hospitality or relevant retail. With an eye for detail and a passion for exceeding expectations you will already have an understanding of the Restaurant business.
YO! Team members
It would be great if you have worked in a fast paced restaurant environment before - but don't worry we're looking for team members with great attitude, commitment and flair and if you can convince us of that, we'll happily train you
Our Managers will work five shifts over seven days with two days off, again our scheduling is still flexible for Managers but we don't expect you to work every weekend for the rest of your life!
We feel having a great work -life balance is totally important for everyone in YO! Sushi, we work hard and play hard too.
Our restaurants are open all day and at the weekends so your skills may be needed during our busy times including weekends and evenings. This also means that as a Team Member we can be flexible with your shifts.
